From: Vicky Wolf <wolfbv@yahoo.com> Subject: Death of Frankie Mullin My email address is wolfbv@yahoo.com and my father, Frankie Mullin passed away yesterday and he was in the 94th Infrantry Division, 1st Lieutenaunt, during World War II. Is there a site I can email Dad's death notice to or a list of his old buddies that are still liviing? Dad would never talk about death or dying because I felt he seen to much of it in the war so therefore I do not have a list of those people but he went to the reunion for years and I know he would like them notified. I know in the last few years alot of his buddies have passed on but feel it very important if any of them are alive that they receive notice that Dad has passed away. Thank-you. |

From: Devin Della-Rose <ddellarose@earthlink.net> Subject: Fred S. Della-Rose Fred was the youngest of three brothers. His next-older brother, Eugene (my father), passed away only two months prior. They are survived by the oldest brother, Frank. All three served in WWII, and miraculously, all three survived. They all have lived wonderful, full lives since the war--Fred became an upper-level manager at U.S. Steel, my Dad was a technical writer at Bell Helicopter, and Frank a geologist at Shell Oil Corp. As brothers, Fred and Dad were especially close. When the war came, dad told me that he and Fred sat and listened to the radio broadcasts after Pearl Harbor was bombed. During WWII, dad served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific, and Fred served in the 94th Inf. I'm told that, when Fred departed for the Army, his English-born mother stood stiff-lipped, gave Fred a firm handshake, and wished her son good luck. Fred served in the Siegfried Line and in the Battle of the Bulge, and shared many of his unimaginable experiences with my dad when they returned home. Dad then passed on many of those stories to me as I grew up. I had the joy of visiting Fred and his family this last summer in Michigan. I didn't know it would be the last time I'd see him. After dad passed away, one of the last things Fred said to me was: "Devin, now that your father is gone, I'll be your dad...". I miss dad and uncle Fred more than words can say, and the best I can hope for is to live the rest of my life with the same honor, integrity, and sense of family that inspired them. Submitted with utmost Love, Major Devin J. Della-Rose

Dear sir: 1 Feb 01
It is with extreme sadness that I report the death of my twin brother, Theodore R. (Ted) Babcock. We both served together in the I & R Platoon of HQ 302 throughout WW II. Ted was 75 years old when he died on 12 january 2001. He would have been 76 on our birthday, 31 january 2001. After our discharge in march, 1946, we Both received BS in EE degrees from the un of Iowa in February, 1950 and both Then went to work as electronic engineers at bell aircraft in Niagara Falls, NY. I stayed there for my entire career but ted moved on to other jobs in the Roanoke, VA area. Where he died and is buried. Ted was very proud to have
served his country in the 94th Inf Div. We Remained together in the
I & R Platoon
throughout the complete ETO campaign Except when one of us was injured
and in the hospital which happened to each of us.

Arrangements are incomplete at present, but it looks as if the wake will be Saturday and Sunday evenings at the Oelker & Cox Funeral Home in Mount Kisco, NY, with the funeral on Monday morning. If you would be so kind as to pass the word, I should be able to provide details in the near future. Also, I trust you will add his name to the TAPS list.
