Subject:  PFC James E. Graham (Jimmy) Co F, 376 Infantry

My uncle was Jimmy Graham of the 376 Infantry, 94th Division, Company F.  He was MIA 10 February 1945 near Bannholz Woods just N. of Sinz Germany.  He was not found until the Early 1950's. He had evidently been killed on 10 February 1945 while with an officer and maybe a radio operator.  The bodies of the three men who were missing were found by my great uncle in the early 50's.  The best information I have is that Germans buried the three men because no graves registration personnel came to get the bodies. Jimmy apparently had been listed as MIA for 6+ years.

I am trying to find out as much information about Jimmy Graham as possible and would like to find someone who was in Company F who may have known him.  His parents/my grandparents and my father never seemed to have accurate data about what happened to him. I have most of the letters Jimmy wrote home from Camp McCain until January 31, 1945 in Germany. However, the letters were censored and a lot of details were removed (places/etc.) or he was not able to give details due to the screening of the mail. I would also like to know the names of the other two men who were killed with him. At my grandparents' request, Jimmy was returned to Staunton, Va. for burial.

The internet has opened many avenues for finding information. This homepage will help a lot of people.  If anyone has information on my uncle, please e-mail or call me at prvstock@comcast.net or 540-825-1738. The best time to reach me by phone is between 7:30 and 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday.

Subject:  Morris Redmann, L376

This is really a search for more personal information.
morrisMorris Redmann was one of 10 siblings, the youngest being 2 or 3 years old when he left home.  One of his brothers, Kerry P. Redmann, 68243 Taulla Dr., Covington, LA 70433-0323 ph: 505/875-9889, a Korean War veteran, is trying to piece together as much as possible for the younger siblings and descendents.

Morris was in the ASTP program, took basic at Ft. Benning, and was reassigned to L Co., 376th Inf. early April 1944 as a rifleman in the first platoon.

He was wounded Sept. 18, 1944 and the family would like to have information as to what type of wound; and more about where he was, other than the St Nazaire quadrant of Brittany.  He was KIA, according to a letter the family received from the acting C.O. of "L" Co. in May 1945, in an artillery attack in woods between Wochern and Tettingen - his service record shows he died Jan. 14, 1945 but that may not be exact.

If you knew Morris in ASTP or in the 94th Div. and remember anything about him the family would like to hear from you, whether directly related to above questions or not.

Subject: 376th IN REG

Hello,

My name is CPT Patrick S. Morgan.  My grandfather served with the fighting 94th during WW II.  I know that he landed on Utah beach on D+94 and saw action in the Battle of the Bulge.  Grandpa is still alive but he does not discuss the war very much and his health is failing rapidly.  Would you please point me in the right direction to get some information for a scrap book that I am putting together for him?  I am interested in hearing from anyone that might remember him and a chronological list of action that he participated in.  His name is Howard Calvin Hussey from North Carolina.  He served with I CO, 376th IN REG.  My e-mail is morganp@cmtc.7atc.army.mil.  My address is:  CMR 415, Box 4723, APO, AE 09114.

Thank You,
P Morgan

Subject:  Information on George L. Smith

I am trying to learn more about where my grandfather, George L. Smith of Alexandria, Indiana, served in WW II and talk with anyone with whom he may have served.  All I know is that he was a staff sergeant in the 94th Infantry Division and was wounded in 1945 and awarded a Purple Heart.
He passed away in 1994 after a long bout with Alzheimer's.
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to really discuss the details of his involvement in the war due his illness.

Any information you could provide me, I would be extremely grateful.

Best regards,
Rob Smith

Can you tell me which companies and platoons from the 778th Tank
Battalion were attached to the 94th Infantry Division during the period cited on your web page (16 Feb through 19 Mar 45 and 23-23 Mar 45)? I would also be interested in knowing what their contribution was to your Division's operations.

Thanks in advance for the information

Just a quick note to thank Dick Leffler Wpns Plat Fox Co 302nd for responding with his information regarding Jack Robinson. I'm passing the message along to Dad. Someone wanted me to post scanned pages from this leaflet, if they will recontact me, I think I've figured out how to send attachments to them.

On this Veteran's Day let me say thank you to all of you who served in the military---without your efforts, my country wouldn't be where it is today and our world would've been totally different. Difficult as it was, thank
you for doing the job.

Subject:  Information on Henry E Spoerl

I am looking for information on my father, Henry E Spoerl, who was with HQ Co, 3rd Bn, 302nd inf reg.  He passed away on 10/02/94, and I received some of the items he saved from the war.  I have spoken with Gene Hack, who was his sergeant, and he helped me quite a lot.  (My father spoke infrequently about his experience)  I purchased the "History of the 94th Division in WWII" and "Patton's Ghost Corps" and that helped my understanding what all these men went through.  Anyone with any information that would help me, please contact me at "gs442@yahoo.com"  Thank you!
