Subject: Col. Earl W. Myers I was sorry to
hear about Col. Myers death via the 94th
Div. Web Page.
It brings to my mind that someone should expand on the information about the regiments and battalions in the 94th. The 3rd Battalion, 302nd was commanded by Lt. Col. Otto B. Cloudt, with Maj. Myers as the adjutant who was replaced by Major Smith when Maj. Myers was promoted and given command of the 1st battalion, etc. I still remember most of the officers in the 3rd battalion and would probably be able to help fill in some of the details if someone would get it started. I think that a lot of vets like myself would like to see this done. It would probably bring backsome memories that are starting to fade. Yours sincerely Louis A. Albert lalbert@sympatico.ca |

Subject: John & Margaret Masscotte Dear Friends of John and Margaret Masscotte: We've had some good news today. My dad is coming home from Moss Rehab next week, and we'll be heading for the Jersey Shore with him. He's doing great.
He's able to walk with the help of a walker, and he even manages steps
pretty well. We even think he'll be up dancing soon (if anyone knows
him can believe that!). Well at least Mommy will be dancing.
She too is doing great. They'd both welcome news from the old crowd.
One bad note, though-no computer hook-up direct to daddy and mom.
So, if you don't have their phone number or address, you can always send
messages by way of his two daughters: me-address above and Colleen
Maurer at cmaur744@aol.com

Subject: Thank you for your help Dear Mr. Leichter,
Your web site and help have been invaluable this summer in helping me find information about my family's history. My request for information about PFC Goon Chee Soo Hoo resulted in much more than I could have imagined. The family really knew nothing of him due to the politics of the time and his death in 1953. As inheritors of some pictures and veterans benefits they knew he was in the Army and surmised he had been a guard. I had hoped to one day determine his unit and maybe even find out his position. at one point I determined he was in the 94th division and did some preliminary research, but I couldn't be sure of very much. Thank you for your web site! It gave me the necessary inspiration to determine the unit Goon Chee was in and post the request for information you responded to. It is truly amazing to me the information I was able to attain from it. Your response led me to someone who actually knew him and I obtained stories that my son needs to know of. I am sure that I am not the first or the last to get benefit from your important site and I applaud all your efforts to help preserve connections to these important events in history. Sincerely, Eric P. Dunlap edunlap@flash.net |

Subject: Great Site I have recently obtained snapshots my father (S/Sgt at time he was discharged) Clinton Bland of himself and a few buddies taken during 1943-46 time period in England as well as in Germany. He was in the 94th and I think I've heard something about F Co. but not certain. I am making album pages and hope you will permit me to site this website for reference in case any of my family want to learn more than we do about the 94th during WWII. I will be contacting personally the people trying to find out about the Chinese soldier--he was a friend of my Dad's and I was even allowed to take that photo out of the house to copy for this album I am making. I don't know much except that in my Dad's eyes he was a great friend and I have a photo. I think the name is on it,so will get in touch with them. As the child of a veteran from the 94th I appreciate your well presented site and links. Please continue it. Wilma Bland wpb52@olynet.com |
