From: click here to email me Subject: James E. Simpkins I was talking with my Grandfather today and he started to talk about WW II, this is strange because I am 31 and he has never told me anything about this before. I knew he was a POW during the war and received a Bronze Star his part in an escape which he was a part of. He went on to tell me some of his story. Apparently he was a Medic in the 94th. He was captured and taken to Stalag 9. I convinced him to let me document his story for my family’s history. I was curious if anyone might remember my grandfather. His name is James E. Simpkins. He is not in the best of health, so I want to get as much information about his unit as I can. If anyone has any stories or photographs that they wouldn’t mind sharing it would be greatly appreciated. |

Subject: my grandfather Micheal E. Hrobsky Date: Sat, 17 Aug 2002 Hi my name is Becky Schroeder, my
grandfather was Micheal E Hrobsky a sergeant in the 94th division.
He was Honorable
discharged in 1945. If anyone one out there knows of him please contact
me. He told me stories years ago when I was little and some I have forgotten.
He would get the Hoodlum News in the mail and then give it to me to read.
I would like to know anything about his service in WW2 or any of his army
buddies who all served this countery well. He since has passed away in
1990. Now my grandmother saves the 94th Division Hoodlum News for me.

Date: Thu, 15 Aug 2002 Subject: 3rd Platoon L Company I am currently writing a book about the 3rd platoon of L Company. My father, Stanley Potocki, was a member of that group. I have been fortunate enough to find, meet, and/or talk with many of the men that served with him. The men have been sending their photos, artifacts, and mementos which I have been scanning for the book, then returning it to them. I would like anyone that would like to contribute stories or would like me to copy their photos to contact me at: John Potocki
I will be attending the L company reunion in October of this year. I look forward to meeting with more of these great men. I have posted afew of these pictures on my Jan. 2002 notice in this section. Thank you |

Subject: George F. Palcich Jr. click here to see Taps obit Date: Wed, 7 Aug 2002 On May 23, 2002 my dad, George Palcich
Jr., passed away. I was on the internet enrolling him in the World
War II Registry of Remembrances, and I did a search for the 94th
Infantry. The first thing that appeared on my display was the silver
and black 94 and I began to cry. So many times as a child I looked
at that symbol which was a patch from his uniform along with the other
patches and medals he wore. I would look at this yearbook-type book
he had to see if I could find a picture of him somewhere. I was close
to my dad and my mom let me receive his flag at his funeral. My sister
has his patches and medals. I would like to know if anyone knew or
heard of my dad. I'm not sure which unit he was with, but I remember
him saying he was a staff sgt and that sometimes he had to notify families
about the deaths of other soldiers. He never went overseas because
he was injured in an accident. He said that some of his unit was
killed when they went over. Please contact me if you can help.
