Subject: Romaine Rusk Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 I am the daughter of Romaine Rusk, who I believe was a Sergeant with the 94th during WWII. I would love to hear from anyone who may have known my dad or who could share any information regarding the time spent during the war. Unfortunately, my dad passed away this past December 23 in New York. Please email me if you have any details that could help me in an effort to piece together his historical scrapbook. Thank you. From: "Bassett, Wes" <sea@coshocton.com> Subject: PFC William L Bassett, 94th Div.Co.L 301st Infantry I'm sorry to say my dad passed away on May 12, 1998 , I wish I had found this web page before he had died. he would have like it, I know, he didn't talk much about his time in army till his 70s ,but reading some of the stores on your web.page was like listening to his own, he was wounded on 15 March 1945, in Pascal Germany, I never knew till his 70s, he talked of his sergeant getting killed that day, and many others, in his unit CO L 301st INF 94 DIV. he said his time in combat was not long, but every day and night was like a life time. If any one knew my dad, his son says hi. Wes Bassett

Heavy losses in the Battle of the Bulge. Dad recently gave an oral

Subject: # Staff Sgts in the 94th Date: Sun, 9 Jan 2000 Going
through the old photos and trying to scan them so can get copy negatives
made, I am amazed at the number of sgts. and staff sgts. in particular
that appear to have been in the 302nd but also in other units of the
94th ---any particular reason? I have no idea as to what the chain of
command set up was, but seems like an excess amount of ncos. Anyone with
any light to shed on this, please contact me. Thanks. |
